Makenzie and Jared put a lot of thought into the details of their small Wallace Falls Lodge wedding, and the finished look absolutely blew my mind.
Makenzie chose a one-of-a-kind long-sleeved dress with a gorgeous lace train from a shop on the East Coast, accented with her gorgeous natural curls and botanical hair ornaments. A handmade bouquet and boutonniere made from foraged mushrooms and ferns completed their florals. Wood rounds and greenery decorated the tables in the reception tent, with catering by Cabbage Patch.
The couple’s two adorable dogs were guests of honor at the event, even joining in to dance with guests. The dancing itself? It was epic – Makenzie and Jared are experienced ballroom dancers, and their first dance was an amazing display of skill.
One of my favorite details in the photos, though, was a quieter moment. Makenzie knew early on that she wouldn’t want to drag that long lace train around all night, but she did want to keep her dress on as long as possible. So she decided to cut it off, and had two friends help her carefully cut and separate the lace inside the lodge’s warm living room. Eventually, she did change to a shorter white dress for dancing.
